大多數的練習者都會有一種奇特的感覺:右半邊或者左半邊的身體比另一邊更有彈性,在這種情況下,[較容易的那邊] 應成為 [僵硬或較虛弱的那邊] 的指導師,這時,身體需要進行理性的調整。
Most sadhakas will feel a peculiar sensation that either the right or the left portion of the body is more elastic than the other. In such cases the easier side must act as a guide to the less efficient or stiffer side. Here the body needs an intellectual adjustment.
有些人的身體天生僵硬,而有些人則靈活柔軟,一些練習者發現他們的身體向前彎曲比較容易,而有些人則發現向後彎的動作較容易,這取決於脊柱的柔韌性,是很自然的,如果你做不了某個動作,不要失望,繼續練習,最終會達到靈活的。
Certain bodies are stiff and others elastic by nature. Some sadhakas will notice that their body bends forward easily while for others backward movement is easy. This is quite natural, depending on the elasticity of the spine. Do not despair if a posture eludes you : continue the practice and elasticity will be achieved in due course.
智力和身體之間會產生挑戰和回應的互動,如果其中一邊挑戰,另一邊則以同樣的活力回應,反之亦然。
A challenge and response interaction takes place between the intelligence and the body. If one challenges, the other has to respond with equal vigor and vice versa.
有時,練習者因為缺乏警覺性,而覺得這種做法無效或者有缺陷。這時,練習者必須再次運用自己的智性去觀察發生在身體和心靈中的挑戰和回應,如此保持專注覺察力,不僅讓我們的練習更有活力,也可激發我們的生命力。。
Sometimes the sadhaka feels that the practice is ineffective or faulty due to lack of alertness. Here one must again apply one’s mind and intelligence to watch the challenges and the responses taking place in the mind and the body. Such care and attention will enliven not only one’s practice but one’s very Being.
不要急著要將某個姿勢做到位,而使得肌肉變得僵硬,而要保持被動的觀察,當最終姿勢做到位時,要保持穩定,觀察一下動作是否準確,然後進行調整,再進一步伸展使之更加完善。
In order to reach the final posture, do not move with an aggressive mind or by hardening the muscles. You should be passive and attentive. When once the final posture is reached, remain firm in it and observe its accuracy, adjust and extend further to perfect it.
